The Burnaby School District is hosting an upcoming PATH Forward night on Tuesday October 27th, from 6-7:30pm at Burnaby Central. PATH Forward information night is geared for families and students from grades 8-12 with physical and social employment challenges, students in Pre-Employment and students in ACCESS.   This year, the event will be an open house style event. Please see the attached invite for more information.

We are continuing to experience an internet outage at all district sites, which is affecting phone services at schools as well.

IT Services staff are actively working on a solution to restore services as quickly as possible.

Any students who are requesting a course change, need to complete the Course Change Form below. Please note, the form will close on Thursday September 10 at 4pm – all course request changes need to be submitted before this time.

Please remember:

• Only students will have access to this form through their Office 365/Outlook account.
• Counsellors will only make course changes if there is a legitimate error in a student’s schedule.
  • Timetable errors include: missing a class (you have fewer than 8 courses), you are in a class that you’ve successfully completed or you are missing a course that is required for Graduation or Post-Secondary.
  • Counsellors will not make changes if: you want a different teacher, you don’t like the time of day a class is offered, your friends aren’t in your class, or you have changed your mind about an elective.
• Students only have one opportunity to submit this form so consider choices carefully before submitting the form.
• Please review the process for course changes in the form before completing and submitting it.
• Students should continue to follow their original schedule after submitting the form, but should continue to be checking their MyEd to see if their course change request has been made.

Counsellors know this can be a stressful time for students, and they appreciate your patience.

Please carefully review the schedule for the first day of school:

• Grades 9–11:

  • All students in Grades 9 through 11 are required to attend their Period 1 class from 11am – 11:45am.

• Grade 8:

  • All Grade 8 students will come to school from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm. We will start together in Gym 1

  • Please note: Grade 8 students will be given a hard copy of schedules during their orientation.

• Grade 12

  • Grade 12 students will meet in Gym 1 at 11:00 am for a grade presentation lead by administration.

Locker Information

If students are interested in using a locker they can visit the following webpage to choose a locker, the locker database will be available Wednesday, September 2nd for grade 8s and International Students and Friday, September 4^th for students in Grades 9-12.  Login using your student number as the user ID and password.

MyEducation

MyEd is currently closed for Parents and Students as we get all the scheduling completed. You will be notified when it is open on September 4, 2026.

Students MUST log in to MyEducation (click https://myeducation.gov.bc.ca/aspen/logon.do)and access their class schedule prior to coming to school on Wednesday, September 9th. Please be aware that the parent view does NOT provide complete information on your child’s timetable, so it is essential that your child log into their own account to access this information. The MyEdBC portal will open on the evening Friday, September 4th.

Course Change Requests

We will be processing all change requests via Microsoft Office Form which will be sent to students and parents on September 4th.   Students must use their school Outlook email to access the form.  Please do not send course change requests to counsellors via email.  Students must attend all classes scheduled on their timetables (even if they are requesting an adjustment) but should continue to be checking their MyEd to see if their course change request has been made. Counsellors will do their best to honour the requests, but there are limitations based on what is available. Counsellors will call students from their scheduled classes to discuss requests, where spaces are available.
