Student Recognition & Awards 2024-2025

**Honour Roll will be calculated and awarded at the end of Semester 1 and Semester 2. Please see the criteria below**  

Awards  Qualifications 
Honour Roll  Grade 10-12 students who attain a 3.0 GPA (B Average) on their report cards achieve Honour Roll standing 
Honours with Distinction 

Grade 10-12 students who attain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on their report card will receive Honours with Distinction.  

A=4.0  B=3.0  C+=2.5  C=2.0 C-=1.0 

Conditions 
  • Gr.12: Students must be enrolled in at least 3 graded courses through Semester 1 and Semester 2.  Honour Roll will be calculated based on the best 3 courses.  
  • Gr. 10-11Students must be enrolled in at least 3 graded courses through Semester 1 and Semester 2. Honour Roll will be calculated based on the best 3 courses.  
  • Youth in Trades programs will be used to calculate GPA. Burnaby On-Line and At Home Learning courses will be included in the GPA Calculations for the 2020-2021 School Year onlyOnline and AHL courses must be completed, with a mark, by the end of Semester 1 and Semester 2 to be considered.
Service Awards  Presented to students who make a service contribution to the school or community. 

  • Minor Service Award: min 50+ hours 
  • Major Service Award: min 100+ hours 
Athletic Awards  Presented to the outstanding male and female athlete. Award criteria includes participation, good sportsmanship and commitment. 
Scholarships & Financial Aid  Information on scholarships, awards and bursaries are available on our scholarship blog/website.  
Gold Cord   Presented to graduating students who achieve Honour Roll status in each Semester/Term in grades 10-12.  
Class Recognition Presented to students by their teachers to recognize excellence in the areas of: Personal and Social Responsibility​, Enthusiasm for Learning, Academic Achievement​, Communication​, Critical Thinking​, Growth​, Creativity​​, and Leadership.
