At Burnaby Mountain, all students in grades 8-10 are required to attend tutorial sessions during teacher collaboration time. Tutorials take place during a 5 period day bell schedule, which occurs 6 times in each term. Our first set of tutorial sessions will begin on Wednesday Sept. 26th. ALL GRADE 8 AND 9 STUDENTS MUST REGISTER for a tutorial that they wish to be a part of for the fall. Tutorials are classes led by grade 11 and 12 Tutorial Leaders, in non-academic subjects that meet our school’s goals around health and balance.
Grade 10 students will be organized into study block groups, which will also be supported by senior students.
The 2018-2019 Tutorial Registration is available to students on MONDAY SEPTEMBER 17TH at 8:00pm, on our school website homepage. The link will only be open until Thursday September 20th at NOON. If you do not register for your preferred tutorial by the deadline, you will placed in one of the groups that still has spaces remaining. When registering, students will be allowed to only choose ONE tutorial, so please take your time to think about where you would like to be. Students will have the opportunity to try a new tutorial in the winter and again in the spring sessions.
