BURNABY FESTIVAL OF LEARNING
WHAT:
The Burnaby Festival of Learning is a week-long celebration of learning with 50+ free events that will inform, engage and spark creative conversations between diverse audiences. Capping SFU’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, the Festival will showcase performances, lectures, discussions, debates and book launches joining the University’s strong history of research and dialogue with the City’s diversity in community programming. Events will engage many audiences including children, families, young adults and seniors.
WHERE:
Activities will happen across many civic spaces and institutions, including libraries, museums, galleries, parks, community centres in Burnaby, and at the Simon Fraser University Burnaby campus.
WHEN:
May 1-7, 2016. The Burnaby Festival of Learning will kickoff on Sunday, May 1 with the City of Burnaby’s Rhodofest at Deer Lake Park (6450 Deer Lake Ave, Burnaby) from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm and close with SFU’s Science Rendezvous on Saturday, May 7 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at SFU’s Burnaby campus (8888 University Dr, Burnaby).
WHY:
To celebrate SFU’s 50th Anniversary by showcasing SFU’s partnership with the City of Burnaby in building learning and engaged communities.
